Art Show and Demonstration by Finger Lakes Artist Judy Soprano To Benefit Hospeace House

(PRWEB) August 6, 2007 -- Finger Lakes Artist Judy Soprano will show her art along with a demonstration for one night only at Wegmans Market Café in Canandaigua, August 10th, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be a live jazz band performing, a cash bar, and proceeds of sales go to Hospeace House in Naples. The event is free.

When describing Judy Soprano's work, one doesn't have to look very far to see similarities with the artist herself. Her pleasant face compliments the scenic landscapes of her work. The flash of Judy's familiar smile radiates the same warmth of her paintings, inviting you to stay longer. Her steady eyes, that are responsible for her attention to detail, remind us all to stop to appreciate true beauty. And her keen sense for serenity make you wish you could paint like her.

Growing up around barns and woodsy landscapes of Hamlin, NY, Judy didn't have to go far to observe and study for her paintings. Educated at S.U.N.Y. at Brockport, Judy still stays active in the finger lakes area by teaching and belonging to such organizations such as Central New York Watercolor Society, Rochester Art Club, and the Suburban Rochester Art Group.

She describes herself as a landscape artist, saying, "I need to feel space in my painting. A nephew once said he could ride his bike into my painting." Ride a bike indeed. Maybe park your mini van, pack a lunch and enjoy the afternoon. Her paintings create a desire to explore the place we all treasure, a quiet lush scenic nature spot that we've discovered, or kept hidden away for special occasions.
