Revolutionary Disability Treatment Center Plans Open House to Celebrate Expanded Facility and Raise Funds for Special Needs Children and Their Familie
Caledonia, Michigan (PRWEB) August 11, 2007 -- Horizons Developmental Remediation Center in Caledonia will be holding their annual Open House on Thursday, August 23 from 4:00-8:00 PM. Families and professionals from the community are invited to tour the newly expanded facility, which now contains over 6,000 square feet of family-friendly space designed to provide state of the art treatment for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. A carnival theme will provide food, games, activities, and prizes for all who attend. Drawings will be held for free treatment sessions, therapeutic materials, and more.
An additional aspect of this year's event will be a fundraiser for the Grandville AMBUCS. This charitable service organization has a mission to create mobility and independence for people with disabilities. The organization raises money to purchase therapeutic tricycles for children and families who can benefit from them. Members of AMBUCS will be on sight at the open house with a variety of bikes for families to view and try. They will also have applications available for families wishing to apply for a bike. While the open house is free to all attendees, donations will be taken to benefit the Grandville AMBUCS.
Founded in 2003, Horizons provides revolutionary autism, neurological impairment, and developmental disability treatment services to families throughout the United States and abroad. The center's mission is to educate, empower, and enrich the lives of families affected by these impairments. All programs and services at Horizons are family-centered and designed to provide parents with the knowledge and skills they need to ensure a quality of life for their children now and in the future. The center offers comprehensive treatment options, including the Relationship Development Intervention Program, speech therapy, occupational therapy, feeding therapy, individualized instruction, employment training, and summer camps.
"We are so excited to partner with the Grandville AMBUCS chapter for this year's open house," said Nicole Beurkens, Director fo the cneter. "The funds raised will provide children with special needs and their families the opportunity to experience the joy of riding bicycles together. It's a wonderful way to support children and families, and we look forward to the community's support in making it happen."
