WineWeb Releases Point-of-Sale Service for Wineries

Santa Fe, NM (PRWEB) July 14, 2008 -- WineWeb.com has released a point-of-sale (POS) solution that integrates with its e-commerce, website and customer management services. The winery POS system is web-based, eliminating the need for specialized computer hardware and resulting in a lower cost of ownership than stand-alone POS systems. A winery can sell wine, merchandise items, event reservations, gift certificates, winery tours/tastings and wine clubs through the POS system. All items (and inventory) are setup in one place so the winery website and POS are always in sync. Event reservations make use of the reservations system so the reservations are centrally recorded and event tickets can be printed immediately. The winery point-of-sale system also leverages all the routines from the e-commerce service for sales tax calculation, compliance checks, payment processing, shipping costs, discount codes and promotions, gift certificate redemption and the customer repository. The easy-to-use interface was developed specifically for wineries so new and part-time winery tasting room staff can quickly process winery sales.
